How to play Azeroth Survivors

Move through the swarm, let your spells fire, and choose upgrades when you level up. Start with the original browser game or the author’s Windows build.

Original game overview; detailed keys from the community rebuildReviewed October 18, 2026
  1. Open Aethus’s original game in a browser with WebGPU. If it will not start, follow the loading checklist before repeatedly reloading.
  2. Use the character picker to choose your character, class and available zone. In the community source rebuild, press Enter or choose Enter World to begin.
  3. Move with W A S D. Attacks cast automatically, so concentrate on finding a path through the enemies.
  4. Collect experience and choose an upgrade when the run levels up. Read what the card changes before selecting it.
  5. After a run, use the game’s own results and progression screens. Check the version before copying another player’s talent or equipment setup.

The precise controls below come from OutThisLife’s community rebuild. The original client can change independently. Follow the prompts in the build you are playing.

If F does not trigger the class skill

In this community revision, the class skill becomes available at player level 5 without choosing a New spell card. It needs an F press; automatic attacks do not trigger it. Check these conditions:

  1. Reach level 5 in the current run.
  2. Return to active play after a pause or upgrade screen, and check that your character is alive.
  3. Wait for the class skill’s cooldown to finish.
  4. Release and press F again once ready. Holding it down does not queue a cast. Point the cursor where you want to aim; without a usable cursor position, the skill uses the character’s facing direction.

These checks follow the fixed revision’s key and learn level and cast conditions. Follow the current game’s prompts if you are playing Aethus’s original client.

What to focus on at the start

Your first useful decision is where to move. Keep a route open and avoid committing to a narrow gap just to collect a pickup. If you are still learning the movement, take a few runs with the same class before changing every choice.

At level-up, compare the actual card changes. Another target, a wider area or a shorter cooldown solves a different problem from a larger damage number. The build guide explains how to choose around the problem ending your runs. Its card reading example shows a rank comparison and the separate spell and passive limits.

These are editorial starting suggestions, not a tested optimal route. The game’s card text and your current build take priority.

Which class should I try?

If you want to compare how classes work, the class reference lists the starting spell and ability pool for nine classes in the published source rebuild. Use it to find a mechanism you like, then check that the original game offers the same spells.

Do I need an account or a WoW subscription?

This is a separate, free fan game, not a World of Warcraft subscription server. The author’s public browser page links directly to the client and a Windows download. Follow the author’s own pages for changes to availability.

Can I play on a phone?

Do not assume that a phone with a recent browser will run the game well. WebGPU support, available memory and the controls matter. A keyboard-equipped desktop is the more practical starting point for the controls documented here. We have not verified mobile gameplay.
